The São João festival is a very traditional festivity that happens every year throughout Brazil, in the months of June and July, and manifests itself in different ways in different regions of the country.
The illustrations were based on cordel, a popular artistic manifestation using the woodcut technic to tell stories and represent the reality of the people in day by day situations.
